Agent BG
hi
Namaste πŸ™ I'm Agent BG β€” Background Guard. I check whether a job posting is real, fresh, and worth your time. Just send me the thing you want checked: πŸ“Ž A job link β€” I'll tell you if it's real, how old it is, and what applying will cost you πŸ“© A message or offer β€” I'll check it for scam patterns 🏒 A company name β€” I'll tell you what I can confirm You don't need to pick an option. Just paste it. I'll tell you when I can't confirm something. I'd rather say "I don't know" than guess.

Backend Engineer β€” Northwind Labs Bengaluru πŸ“… Posted 3 days ago (09 Aug) πŸ†• First time I've seen this link πŸ“‹ 5 questions, including 1 written answer and a cover letter. ⚠️ Two of them are the kind that can filter applicants out automatically: β€’ "How many years of professional experience do you have in backend development?" Options: 3-5 years, 5-8 years, 8+ years β€’ "What is your notice period?" Options: Immediate, 30 days, 60 days Both are dropdowns, so they can be filtered on before anyone reads your application. These are the real questions from the form β€” I read the form itself, not the job description. Nothing here looks wrong to me. Whether it's worth your time is your call β€” I can't judge whether you're a fit.

Ten links a day. Thirty seconds each.

Job links arrive all day β€” placement groups, forwards, friends who thought of you. Most of them aren't scams. They're two months old and already filled. They're the same posting you saw last week under a different link. Or they're a form that will reject you on a dropdown you can't change.

You can't tell which from the link. So you either apply to everything and lose your week, or skip things you could have got.

The question isn't β€œis this a scam?” It's β€œis this worth my time?” β€” and nobody answers it.

Three checks, in seconds.

How old is this posting?

We read the publication date from the employer's own hiring system where it's published, and fall back to the earliest record we hold. A posting live for 90 days is usually already filled.

Is this company and link real?

Domain age, mail records, certificate, and whether the careers page actually lists the role. Lookalike domains get flagged.

Does this match known scam patterns?

Upfront fees, OTP and document requests, salary far above the role, pressure to act now. We describe the pattern β€” we never name a company as a fraudster.

And before you start the form: where the employer publishes them, which is not everywhere, we read the actual application questions and tell you how many there are and which ones filter automatically.

Sometimes the honest answer is β€œI can't confirm this.”

Most of the time we can tell you something useful. Sometimes we can't β€” the page needs a login, the employer publishes nothing, the domain is too new to judge.

When that happens Agent BG says so, and tells you what to check yourself. It does not guess.

I can't confirm this one. That doesn't mean it's fake β€” it means I couldn't verify it.

A confident wrong answer is the only failure we treat as unacceptable. Telling you a scam looks safe would cost you money. Telling you a real employer looks fraudulent would cost you a job. So when the evidence isn't there, we say the evidence isn't there.

Every job platform is paid by employers. We aren't.

Job boards make their money from the companies posting the jobs. That's not a criticism β€” it's how the model works. But it means no job board can tell you a posting on its own site is stale, recycled, or not worth your time. Its customer posted it.

Veritan is paid by job seekers only. No employer pays us for placement, ranking, or a badge. Nobody can buy a better verdict.

That's why we can tell you a posting isn't worth your morning.

Forward the message. Get the verdict.
